Researchers at the U.S. Army Institute for Surgical Research report that using the Clear Guide ONE with ultrasound resulted in faster and more successful vessel cannulations than using ultrasound alone. Study lead author, Dr. Andriy I. Batchinsky, MD, presented the preliminary findings of an ongoing study at ELSO 2016. Using the ONE decreased the time for a successful jugular vein cannulation from 207 seconds to 51 seconds. Successful first-attempt cannulations rate with the ONE was 89% (35/39) and with ultrasound only was 43% (13/30). Details of the findings can be found here.
