Clear Guide Medical Receives
 $200,000 Maryland Biotechnology Development Award

Clear Guide Medical received a $200,000 Maryland Biotechnology Development Award to accelerate the commercialization of its first clinical product, the Clear Guide ONE™.  The Clear Guide ONE is a radical innovation in the field of image guidance because of its simplicity and ease of use. The system can be added to any ultrasound probe and system, and it is pre-calibrated, unobtrusive and "always on" so that it is ready to use as soon as the touchscreen is turned on – there is no lengthy set-up time or change to the workflow.  "With this award we hope to be selling the Clear Guide ONE by August of this year," says CEO Dorothee Heisenberg.  "Although we can't reliably predict when the FDA will clear the Clear Guide ONE, this award helps us put in place all the necessary manufacturing and quality system components so that we will be able to sell it as soon as it is cleared."  Clear Guide Medical already sells the non-clinical training system, the Clear Guide EDU™ which trains physicians in needle-based procedures such as anesthesia, fluid drainage and biopsy with the same quality components as the Clear Guide ONE.  The company is currently developing the Clear Guide VET™ which uses the same technology for veterinarians to guide needle-based procedures in animals.
